If you are searching for peace and calm, somewhere in the heart of wonderful countryside, look no further. Perched high above the Argentina Valley in Liguria, Triora is a village where time seems to stand still. Officially one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, it is an oasis of charm, history and tranquillity. Triora is a maze of cobbled, traffic-free lanes, arches, tunnels and panoramic views. A wonderous mix of architecture, history and hidden treasures. The house is in the oldest part of Triora. The village houses are old, charming and characterful. Neighbours are few and far between. Peace and privacy are assured. The house is ideal for people seeking to escape the stresses and strains of modern-day life. It is a perfect getaway for weekends and summer holidays. Leave your luxurious, complicated, hi-tech world behind, and appreciate the simple things in life, in the amazing Triora. The house has accommodation on three floors. From the front door, you arrive on the middle floor. Ahead is the staircase to the top floor, to the right the hallway. Off the hallway is the bathroom with Wc, bidet and washing machine. At the end, a small room with with drawers and fitted shelving. We used this as a study and lounge area. Especially cosy in the colder months, as it is an easy room to heat. Also off the hallway is a door concealing the stairs to the lower floor. The lower floor is one large room, with a wooden staircase leading down from the entrance hall. This room is a blank canvas. We used it as our bedroom. The top floor, is the kitchen-diner with a door leading onto the small, south facing balcony, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Argentina Valley. The kitchen area has an induction hob, a fridge, sink and water heater, a walk-in larder and plenty of cupboard space. The dining area has room for a large table and chairs and a breakfast bar. This room also has a large wood burning fireplace, although we have never used it. Below the house is the cellar, accessed via a separate private passage-way, which also leads to the small south facing garden. The cellar is small and has a low ceiling, so is only useful for storage. The house benefits from a brand new roof, fitted during January 2025. The various items of furniture seen in the images are included in the sale. There are a couple of lovely restaurants, three cafes, a convenience store, a delicatessen, an award winning bakery, a hardware store, a post office and several gift shops. There is a regular bus service between Triora and Taggia/ San Remo, about 30km away. The A8/E10 motorway follows the Mediterranean Sea, allowing easy access to both the Italian Riviera and the French Riviera. Nice airport is only 90 minutes by car.
