Some curiosities about the property:
In this wonderful palace rich in history was born and lived the Puglian painter Giulio Pagliano important figure in the cultural landscape of the Italian South.
In the vicinity of the property we find various monuments and places including:
- The basilica concathedral of St. Agatha 17th-century Baroque construction with Latin cross, built on the site of a Romanesque church dedicated to St. John Crisostomo. Located in the center and at the highest point of the island, a site probably destined for sacred area since antiquity, it represents one of the main monuments of the Baroque expression of Salentina.
- The church of St. Francis of Paola, seat of the brotherhood of Santa Maria in Nives or Cassopo, was built in 1621 and was part of the convent of the Paolotti. It stands on the city walls in front of the port.
- The church of the Holy Crucifix, home of the brotherhood of the same name, was erected in 1750 on land owned by dominican fathers, purchased by the brotherhood in 1741.
There are many palaces of Renaissance and Baroque origin; many of these were in the hands of noble families of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies of Spain, some of them:
- The Bishop's Palace next to Gallipoli Cathedral. Bishop Massa in 1652 demolished the pre-existing structure as a dilapidated state and, in 1700, Bishop Oronzo Filomarini had it furnished with furnishings, fine furniture, canvases and frescoes made by the Gallipoli artist Michele Lenti.
- The Palazzo Romito is certainly one of the most fascinating and characteristic palaces of the Ionic town as it is richly decorated with busts of characters, columns, butts and with balconies in rococo style.
The Palazzo Rocci is home to the City of Gallipoli and belonged to one of the noblest families of the 1700s.
Also in the old town is the beach of Purity, a small beach nestled between the ramparts of the old town. The shape of the village is such that it forms two benas on the lithuanians.
