Here you’ll immediately notice the brick arches, probably dating back to the Middle Ages, as well as the flooring, made from ancient boards of an old farmhouse in the Alta Langa.
On this floor, there’s the first terrace of the house: the view over the town, the vineyards and the Langhe is spectacular.
Ground Floor:
Stepping down to the Ground floor you reach the kitchen, dining room, guest bathroom and a lovely closed veranda, where you can sit down and relax, while enjoying the sun coming in. The veranda is directly connected to a small courtyard, where you can put a dining table for al-fresco dinners or arrange a sitting area in the open air. This is more than a privilege for a house in the historic centre: this is unique!
The dining room is full of modern details, such as two radiators in the shape of elongated ellipses – very original.
The kitchen was created in the area of the old manger, and an architectural element has been preserved and transformed into a cup holder. The worktop is in porphyry and canaletto walnut. On the floor there is a small window overlooking the library downstairs.
If you go further downstairs, you reach the cellar, where you can store your precious collection of Barolo wines. At the moment, it’s been arranged as a reading room, with sofas and a big bookcase, with a selection of very good titles. Second Floor:
The second floor can be reached via a staircase in wood, iron and stone – one of the most interesting architectural elements in the house.
Here’s where the sleeping area has been arranged with 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom. The originality is given by the materials used for the doors: barriques cut and set with iron and glass. In the master bedroom the three windows overlook the valley, with beautiful views over Monforte and the Langhe with its charming vineyards.
Passing through the main bathroom (equipped with a shower with chromotherapy), you get out onto the highest terrace: from here the view is breathtaking.
The guest bedroom enjoy a fireplace, as well as other details, specifically the materials used to build it.
This house is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity, all ‘seasoned’ with flair and attention to detail that help to embellish the rooms and make them truly unique.
The External Areas
