The House

This lovely complex of trulli was recently restored in 2014, thus featuring many modern comforts and building techniques. Developing on a total surface of ca. 160 sq.m. The restoration was carried out matching traditional features like the stone arches and the flooring in cocciopesto, an antique technique to make a flooring, but that gives a modern feeling to the whole.

There are many French doors, so you can access the house from several areas. From the front portico you get into the spacious and bright living room/kitchen, which is also directly connected to the big, back portico. Having 2 porticos is a great chance to enjoy different moments of the day: the front portico is excellent to have an aperitif in the afternoon; the big one is great to enjoy al-fresco dinners.

From the living room, through a corridor, you get to the sleeping area, composed of a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a spacious bathroom with shower.

With access from the small portico, and also connected internally through a door, there’s an independent apartment with kitchen/dining room, spacious double bedroom characterized by stone arches and bathroom with shower. This area could be used for holiday rentals, while you live in the big apartment or as an independent unit for guests. On the other hand, you can use the whole building as a single home. This makes the house very flexible to multiple uses.

These trulli represent the excellence of renovation: the structure is in reinforced concrete, the building is completely insulated and the floor is ventilated, in order to keep a good internal temperature, and avoid damp issues. Attention was also paid to energy saving, in fact solar panels were installed for domestic hot water. The systems of the 2 apartments are independent, so that if one is not used, there is no waste of energy.

Other pluses of the house are the wooden frames and the mosquito nets on all windows, the settings for air conditioning and a video surveillance system, so you can go on holiday without worries.

The water is connected to a rural mains, so you won't experience lacks of water. In any case, to avoid any kind of problem during the hottest summers, 2 water tanks have also been built: one for irrigation and the other for drinking water. This is a relevant advantage in Puglia.

The Annexes

The property enjoys 2 annexes:

• One is a former stable for animals, and now turned into a useful storage for all pool and gardening tools.

• The other one, is a lodge for the bread and pizza oven, with a Bbq and a shower attached.

The Garden

Access to the property is via an electric gate, that leads to the gravel yard.

Going up a couple of steps in the opening of the dry stone wall, you arrive at the swimming pool area, set a little higher than the house, to soak up all the sun possible.

The modern swimming pool was built in 2018 and it measures 10x3m. The large solarium can accommodate several sun loungers, making it perfect for a poolside party.

All around, there are 1.4 hectares of red grounds, typical of the Apulian landscape. The fields are planted with cherry, almond, olive and other fruit trees. When June comes it is a sight to watch the children enjoy picking and eating cherries directly from the trees.

The Location

The location of this lovely complex of trulli is quite secluded, but not isolated, with a couple of villas in the surroundings. The position is quite comfortable for a working family with kids, because the access road is all paved and quickly connects to Sp58, connecting Putignano to Sammichele di Bari.

Putignano is a smaller but beautiful upcoming tourist destination, nice also if you wish to make a move to Puglia: the town is small, but not too tiny, so it is has all the services you need to live a happy life. This way your life can be full but also a bit slower, to allow you to enjoy all the pleasures of life.

In Putignano you can find offices if you want to find a local job, schools if you have kids, restaurants if you want to taste some good local food and much more.

The most beautiful coastal towns of Puglia, including Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, are only 25km away, as are Alberobello and other white towns of Valle D’Itria.
